bing in iphone safariRecent drop out of Google from Safari has lead may rumors spreading everywhere. Out of those rumors one is about Bing as default search engine for Safari. The main cause of this rumor is the ongoing deal between Apple and Microsoft.

I’m not sure that there’re much chances for Bing to become part of Safari, even if the deal comes to happen, as Apple has already started working on its own search engine. Though Apple’s own search engine will be high cost option, but will be long term too, and Apple has always been working on long term investments!

After all, it’s about losing millions of audience. Well, Adobe is rightfully unhappy, and there’re rumors that Adobe is planning to sue Apple in few weeks.

Almost half of the apps in the Top 100 list on App Store cost $0.99; what does this mean? This means that price does matter! Well, $0.99 is the price at which users make an impulsive purchase. An application within this price range looks appealing.

When Should You Price Your App Within This Range?

Your own application may look great to you, but think from users’ perspective. Before submitting app, get it tested by end users. If your app is mildly entertaining, solves a basic problem, easy created but is of high quality, price it within this range!

Apple Drops Google Search Button In Safari; First Move Towards Building Own Search Engine

safariIt’s all about competition, so Apple decided to drop Google search option in Safari in iPhone OS 4.0. So, Apple is finally working on its own search engine. How powerful will the Apple search engine be, is something time will decide, but Apple will definitely be providing a sound alternative to its users.

By letting Google as default mobile search engine for iDevices, Apple has actually allowed Google access to iPhone users’ search statistics and preferences, which could potentially be used to further the development of Android.  This is a huge for Apple, and the step can save Apple’s concerns to some extent.

According to Mobile Marketing Watch, “dropping Google could potentially hurt Apple more than helping, however, because using Bing or Yahoo means a direct tie with Microsoft, who Apple dislikes just as much as Google at the moment.  Building out their very own search engine would be a long, costly and tedious process for Apple, but it looks like the groundwork has already begun”.

No particular date is announced for the browser to be submitted on App store yet, but seems it’ll be sooner!
