The iPhone Verizon story has already got huge media coverage, making the end users more curious and pressurizing Apple and Verizon both to come up with a final word. Whether it’s users interest or just an artificial market effect created, almost all big gadget reviewers had covered the story.
The latest to join this rumor mill is MacDaily News, saying that the next-generation iPhone for Verizon could be announced as early as June 22nd. It’s still to be confirmed from Apple and Verizon, as there’s no word in this regard from any of them!

Recent drop out of Google from Safari has lead may rumors spreading everywhere. Out of those rumors one is about Bing as default search engine for Safari. The main cause of this rumor is the ongoing deal between Apple and Microsoft.
I’m not sure that there’re much chances for Bing to become part of Safari, even if the deal comes to happen, as Apple has already started working on its own search engine. Though Apple’s own search engine will be high cost option, but will be long term too, and Apple has always been working on long term investments!

IT World reported that Adobe is ready to sue Apple on banning Flash from the iPhone and iPad. Though Adobe’s CEO said they’ve no grievances on their part, Adobe is unhappy. After all, it’s about losing millions of audience. Well, Adobe is rightfully unhappy, and there’re rumors that Adobe is planning to sue Apple in few weeks.
On the other hand, Apple’s opinion on the issue is sound too. For Apple, the apps converted from Flash or other unsupported languages run badly on their hardware.

This is purely developers’ interest’s topic, but only those who know the fact that pricing has a direct and big impact on number of downloads. If you’re an iPhone developer and want your app to be in top lists, you must have a pricing policy: That doesn’t mean to price it too low or too high, but pricing it rightly!
Almost half of the apps in the Top 100 list on App Store cost $0.99; what does this mean? This means that price does matter! Well, $0.99 is the price at which users make an impulsive purchase. An application within this price range looks appealing.
When Should You Price Your App Within This Range?
Your own application may look great to you, but think from users’ perspective. Before submitting app, get it tested by end users. If your app is mildly entertaining, solves a basic problem, easy created but is of high quality, price it within this range!

With one million downloads on the first day of its launch, Opera Mini has become the top iPhone app on 22 featured App Stores. According to Apple’s download count, Opera Mini has been added to 1,023,380 iDevices.
“Today, iPhone users have a choice, and, as the numbers show, they are eager to explore new and faster ways to surf the web on the iPhone, especially during heavy web traffic,” says Opera Software CEO, Lars Boilesen. “With any widely available and frequently downloaded Opera product, we are appreciative of all the feedback we are getting, as it helps us to continually improve our product and better meet the needs of our users.”

It’s all about competition, so Apple decided to drop Google search option in Safari in iPhone OS 4.0. So, Apple is finally working on its own search engine. How powerful will the Apple search engine be, is something time will decide, but Apple will definitely be providing a sound alternative to its users.
By letting Google as default mobile search engine for iDevices, Apple has actually allowed Google access to iPhone users’ search statistics and preferences, which could potentially be used to further the development of Android. This is a huge for Apple, and the step can save Apple’s concerns to some extent.
According to Mobile Marketing Watch, “dropping Google could potentially hurt Apple more than helping, however, because using Bing or Yahoo means a direct tie with Microsoft, who Apple dislikes just as much as Google at the moment. Building out their very own search engine would be a long, costly and tedious process for Apple, but it looks like the groundwork has already begun”.

Apple has always been very protective for its products, and this is one of the major reasons they happened to make a difference. Well, protecting your products from piracy is one major step any product based company should do, not only to be different but also to maximize their profits. This is what exactly Apple has done.
Lately Apple filed a suit against HTC for its alleged involvement in infringing iPhone patents. To make things more clear, Apple got the design patents for iPhone and iPod Touch. A design patent would precisely means that you can’t make a brazen copy of the iPhone and iPod touch’s “Ornamental design”. It would only cover the “ornamental design” of the devices and not their functionality. This would in simple words mean that any other devices that would look a little too similar to iPhone or iPod touch will have to be dealt with Apple’s legal department.
