Latest version of the Skype for iPhone app, i.e. 1.3.1 is now available to download. This version fixes most of the bugs with the previous iteration but still no news of calling over 3G.

iPhone owners really want to be able to make calls using the VoIP software on 3G connections, rather than just over Wi-Fi, so an update about this feature was greatly expected. Unfortunately the option is still missing. Skype announced the feature on the way, so let’s see if it really comes in near future!

ipad uk releaseAfter getting busy days in USA, now iPad is coming to UK. There’re rumors that Apple iPad UK launch will possibly be on 26 April, 2010. CNET UK has learned that a major publisher’s app team is readying its iPad app for release on that date to coincide with the much-hyped tablet’s launch.

It’s though a rumor, but interesting; According to CNET UK, the UK Apple Store  staff had been told not to take the day off on Saturday 24 April, 2010. It can be April 23 too that iPad goes on sale in UK on this date as all versions of the iPhone have launched over here on a Friday.

Tuesday has been observed as Apple’s traditional launch day for most other products, so signaling 26 April, 2010  the day for the iPad to arrive in UK.

verizon-iphone-dealVerizon is trying its best to have popular iDevice on it’s network, but there’s no update yet that when it’s going to be a reality. There’re rumors that this deal is not going to happen at least sooner. And, the reasons may include Verizon’s rejection of iPhone back in 2007.

So it’s important to know why actually Verizon rejected iPhone then. Steve Jobs wanted to have too much of control that Verizon didn’t like, says Social Media SEO. Apple didn’t wanted to give iPhone to Verizon that easily that time, and Verizon was in position to reject the deal.

AT&T went great guns with iPhone that Verizon can still do. But will Apple be reluctant this time or Verizon will have to compromise to make the deal reality?

Pervasive Multitasking & iPhone OS 4.0

And finally multitasking comes to iPhone via iPhone OS 4.0 but right now that superpower is possessed only by Apple’s own apps, and cannot be extended to third-party applications.

“Apple has touted push notifications as superior to true multitasking, which, to Apple’s way of thinking, drains battery life and slows down device performance. But as we all know, it’s a classic Apple stratagem to downplay a feature right up to the very moment the company unveils it. We’re willing accept a pretty broad definition of multitasking: it could be as simple as making it easier for apps to save their state when you quit them, so that you can relaunch right where you left off, says PC Advisor.
